Message from the President of SUAGM
In order to serve a growing population of students with special needs and demands, Ana G. Mendez University System has had to think and act outside the box of traditional higher education, transforming how people learn by streamlining processes, breaking barriers, and developing new and innovative ways of delivering its academic products and services.
We were, therefore, pioneers in Puerto Rico in exploring the application of distance learning techniques, establishing university centers throughout the island, and offering accelerated adult education programs, such as AHORA, which has become an important part of our expansion beyond Puerto Rico.
The Dual Language Discipline-Based Immersion Program initiated at the Metro Orlando University Center (MOUC) is fast becoming a model for dual language education and is being recognized by several professional organizations as the first and only accelerated dual language program for adults in the United States. AGMUS Ventures has been instrumental in the development and implementation of this program.
